PUBLIC BIDS

CHAPTER 5.

5-1. Public Bids Required. The purpose of this Chapter is to enact legislation in conformance with the statues of the State of Iowa with regard to limitations by the City on purchases from city officers and employees in excess of $1500.00 per year and to require competitive bids therefor.

5.2. Competitive Bids. All purchases by the City of Elberon from any person who is a city officer or employee which exceed a cumulative total purchase price in a fiscal year of $1500.00 shall be made only upon competitive bid, in writing, publicly invited and opened; if the City Council declares that an emergency exists, purchases made to deal with an emergency shall not be subject to the $1500.00 limitation or to competitive bid requirements.
