32-1. Regulation. All open excavations within the City of
1. Open excavations including trenches or other openings shall have shoring placed if the same would be required under federal or state regulations including occupational safety and health administration standards as currently in effect.
2. All open excavations that are to remain open overnight, shall be appropriately fenced or otherwise protected to alert passers by of the existence of the open excavation and to minimize the likelihood of accidental falling or injury as a result of the existence of the excavation.
